Winter’s Warrior by Scarlett Scott

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Books are only as good as the imagination of the author.  This author has quite the vision!  Writing a series like this requires strenuous world-building and character development.  This installment was a brilliant success.  The novel transported me somewhere where I didn’t want to leave.  The story was smart, sexy, and seductive.

The plot encompassed so many elements.  It pulled from Romeo and Juliet to the Nightingale Syndrome.  Also, there is amnesia, deceit, mystery, and a gaming hell.  There was so much going on that I was riveted to the page. There was no slow moment.  Even in the tender moments, the pace was steady.  The storyline took my breath away.  I could not put this book down.

The two main characters were rich and vivid.  Gavin embodied what the Winters family stands for.  From the glimpse of Gavin in other books, he seemed the epitome of brutal strength.  Here we get to know a completely different Gavin.  A vulnerable one.  He stood out as desirable.  Caro takes her family role and loyalty seriously.  Caro finds herself in a situation where there is no good choice.  I did not envy her this task.  I still don’t know what I would have done!

While most of the book was character-driven by the couple, the secondary characters complemented and completed the story’s backdrop.  Caro’s family has been in the background in this series, but this is the first time where some of the Sutton’s stood out.  Caro’s family is intriguing.  I don’t think we’ve heard the last of them.

This book was a slow burn.  The attraction grew steadily throughout the book. The couple’s chemistry locked the reader to the page.   It was one of the more romantic of the books.

I love a great, long series that keeps my interest.  I couldn’t put these books down.  To be the culmination of this wonderful series, this book shone like a bright star.  The plot was intelligent and grabbed my attention.  I hate to see this family come to fruition, but I do feel a sense of completeness.  It was a wonderful ending; I can’t wait to see what is next!

I received an ARC of this book from the author.   This is my honest, voluntary opinion.

The Wicked Winter’s has been a beautiful, entertaining series. I love all of Scarlett Scott’s books, but I believe this series is my favorite. Reading about this large family was so much fun. Each book was unique, even when they occured during the same location and time period. I hate to see this series end! Good news is we get to read about the Suttons next! The Suttons are the nemesis of the Winters. I can’t wait to read thier stories! In other news, I am scheduled on the release tour for The Design Of Dukes tomorrow. Stop by for information about the book, my review, and a new excerpt! It was a great read! Until next time, stay safe, be kind, and keep reading!
