This was a delightful, fresh romance! A quick read, the love story of Zander and Maria was heartwarming. The entire book made me smile!
Zander, the heir to a Marquess, has made a vocation of dodging marriage-minded debutantes and their mothers. Maria, who comes from humble beginnings, is re-making herself in the hopes of snagging a rich husband. The couple finds love in the most unlikely of places.
I enjoyed Zander and Maria’s personalities. Both were sparkling and witty. At first glimpse, both could be considered shallow; two loving, caring, intelligent people hid beneath the surface. The complexity of the characters was brilliant. The couple’s attraction was instantaneous, and the sparks flew!
The plot was intelligent and entertaining. The story flew by, demanding my attention through the entirety. The backdrop of the house party brought excitement and depth. I was delighted by the passion. Ruination Of A Rogue is book two in the English Rose series. This book was a delightful journey to take on a quiet afternoon. The characters, backdrop, and plot blend to make an excellent love story.
