Her Willful White by Tammy Andresen

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Writing one excellent book is challenging; writing a whole series that is incredible rarely happens.  The White family saga keeps getting better.  Each book builds from the previous, creating a rich, decadent world you do not want to leave.

Dez is a captain of ships that transport gun powder for the war.  Behind the surly exterior hides a good man who is caring and takes responsibility for his siblings seriously.  He is solitary and formidable, yet he is a decent man.  In many ways, he is more the figurehead of the family than his older brother, the duke.  I enjoyed the many layers and complexity of Dez’s character.

Fleur is desperate to find her father’s murderer and bring him to justice.  She is fearless.  Fleur’s independent spirit will not allow her to sit on the sidelines while others put themselves in danger.  She is selfless. I love a strong female lead who is not content to let the males face a threat alone.

The couple together is unstoppable.  Their attraction is undeniable from the first page.   Their relationship builds to a crescendo of sizzling passion and burgeoning love.  The couple was enjoyable to read.

The plot is fast-paced and has a thread of mystery that kept it interesting.  I enjoy the world-building the author adds with each new book.  The White family is intriguing and fun to read.  The story is original and kept my attention.  This book was a joy.  It had action and passion in equal measure.  This book is a marvelous addition to a saga of a captivating family.  I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book through the author.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Her Willful White is the second book in this amazing Dark Duke’s Legacy series.  Each book, thus far, focuses on an individual member of the White family.  They are an estranged, surly bunch.  They were raised in a horrible situation created by the despot of a father.  Slowly they learn to trust and care for each other.  This series is one of the best I have read in quite a while.
