The Ice Duchess by Tracy Sumner

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Ice Duchess is a beautifully written second-chance love story.  The book has a bounty of longing and passion.  The characters grabbed my attention and the plot captivated me.

Georgiana is a damaged widow who had a horrible marriage.  She relishes her freedom and will not let anything or anyone endanger that hard-won independence, not even her long-lost love.  Dexter is a geologist before anything, even being a Duke.  He finds Georgiana again, much changed, and wants her for his own.  However, Georgiana wants nothing to do with matrimony. Georgiana is fragile but has a backbone of steel.  She has suffered greatly yet has a resilience that resonated with me.  Dexter is a reserved man of science with a passion, when unleashed, singes the page.  The longing the couple has for each other is urgent and elemental.  Their desire and sensuality melts the reader.  The relationship is intricate and delicate yet has the potential to build into a fierce, all-encompassing love.

The plot caught my attention from the first page.  It moved quickly, frantically urgent at times.  I was completely enamored with the couple’s journey.  The story was a pulse-pounding, heart-wrenching, ground-shaking love story.  The strength of feeling in the characters was off the charts.  The background of Christmas gave the plot a warm feel.  The Ice Duchess is a prequel to The Duchess Society series.  Tracy carefully begins building a wondrous, sensual world that I want to visit again and again!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book through the author.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.
