The Marquess’s Darling Match by Maggie Dallen and Katherine Ann Madison

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Marquess’s Darling Match is a bright, sweet romance.  It is a breath of fresh air.  The story is a lively, light-hearted love story.

Lady Mariah Rutland is shocked and dismayed when she discovers Crest, the Marquess of Westford, a stranger, has set his sights on her.  They had never officially met until his house party.  After a disastrous first meeting, the couple must see beyond the superficial to find love.

I enjoyed reading how Crest’s character grew emotionally.  Crest understands he botched things with Mariah but is smart enough to slowly get to know her and prove that she belongs with him.  Crest has a vulnerability to him due to his uncertainty in his newly inherited title.  Mariah may seem the quiet wallflower, but she is strong, intelligent, and knows her mind.

The couple’s dynamic was spot-on.  The spark was felt with a simple first kiss.  That kiss portrayed all the emotion of a passionate love scene.  The plot is cleverly written and is a short, rapidly-paced read.  The Marquess’s Darling Match is the ninth book in A Wallflower’s Wish series.  These short novels are a great way to spend an afternoon.  This was a joy of a book!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book through the author.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.
