Sutton’s Sins by Scarlett Scott

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sutton’s Sins does not disappoint, delivering an entertaining, exciting, passionate read!  I loved all the Winter siblings; the Suttons build upon that world, creating gritty, sensual romances I can’t put down.

The myth of Hades and Persephone is mentioned in this book, and it fits Rafe and Persephone’s journey perfectly.  Rafe’s background and dialogue are described vividly in his entertaining vernacular.  Rafe’s slang brings levity as Persephone’s confusion about his words is evident.  Rafe is a low-born scoundrel, part-owner of a gaming hell owned by his siblings.  Persephone, Rafe’s nieces’ governess, is hiding dangerous secrets.  Persephone has created the façade of safety and propriety; while terrified her past will catch up.

Rafe and Persephone’s story is fiery and sensual without overpowering the romance.  The couple’s connection is forbidden and unlikely. However, their chemistry is undeniable.  Rafe, nearly a criminal, is loyal and loves fiercely without reservation.  Persephone has quiet dignity.  Persephone’s innocence is tempered with her desire creating a beautiful, passionate woman hiding behind a dowdy, unmemorable servant.

The storyline is fast-paced and intricate.  The couple has oh-so-steamy scenes, yet those scenes add to the plot’s integrity rather than detract from it.  Rafe’s character is a fantastic addition to the Sutton family.  I fell in love with Rafe and Persephone’s turbulent romance.  The conclusion is a perfect blend of fire and love.  Sutton’s Sins is the second book in The Sinful Sutton’s, a spinoff of the Wicked Winters.  Scarlett Scott has exceeded expectations again, creating a visceral, sensual romance that enchants the reader.  I cannot recommend this book enough!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book through the author.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.
