⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Every once in a while, I come across a romance that checks all the boxes for an excellent, unforgettable novel. The characters must have vibrant personalities. The writing must be intricate, descriptive, and memorable. The locations, backdrops, and secondary characters must support and enrich the plot. Finally, the couple must forge a connection that is fiery and passionate yet tenderly romantic simultaneously. The Temptation Of A Highlander is all these things and more!
The plot was absolutely mesmerizing. I am not giving away much plot or any spoilers. The reader should be able to completely immerse themselves in this tremendous love story and let it unfold naturally. Clarissa has caught the attention of a madman and runs to Scotland to a friend for shelter and help. Campbell finds himself taken with Clarissa and vows to protect her.
Campbell is larger than life in description and personality. Campbell’s fierce protection of Clarissa had me tearing up! Campbell is simply a good man; he is brave and intensely passionate. Clarissa is in fear for her life and those around her. I felt her terror. The safety she felt in Campbell’s arms was tangible. The couple’s connection was instantaneous, and the sparks flew throughout the entirety of the novel. The couple’s sensuality was fiery, and their journey throughout the book to love and happiness was breathtaking.
The story unfolded a complex plot perfectly. There was depth to the story, and yet it moved at an amazingly swift pace. I could not put this book down! I kept turning the pages until very early the next morning! The Temptation Of A Highlander is the third book in the Midnight In Scotland series. Elisa Braden’s ability to breathe life into the characters and make you care about them is stunning. This novel is by far one of the best I have read this year.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book through the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
