Clarity is the first book in the new series, Diamonds Of The First Water. These books will follow each Diamond sibling’s journey. This is Alex and Clarity’s story. Clarity is the eldest Diamond sibling and is outgoing, beautiful, and sparkling. Alex is the opposite; he is a dull, awkward, rule-following bore. Both Clarity and Alex try to find spouses similar in temperament; however, they are inexplicably drawn to each other.
I felt this was a strong showing for the first book in a new series. A good foundation was created, and exciting characters were introduced. I enjoyed both Alex and Clarity. The plot dragged during the middle of the book; it did pick speed back up towards the latter half. The characters’ psychology was excellent – each character had both deep flaws and admirable attributes. The connection between Alex and Clarity had history yet blossomed into something more. The couple’s chemistry was good, and their relationship, which had its ups and downs, was believable.
I felt this was a solid beginning to an exciting new series. The Diamond family was entertaining and vivacious. I look forward to Purity’s adventure next! Sydney Jane Baily has created a bright romantic world full of passion and heart.
