Rescued By The Rake by Annabelle Anders

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What I enjoyed most about Rescued By The Rake were Edge and Chloe’s huge personalities! I can tell both main characters were painstakingly created, giving them an organic, intimate feel. Edge is a soldier on leave who feels disillusioned. Chloe is an outspoken bluestocking caught in the middle of an enormous lie. Edge and Chloe clash at their first meeting, the passionate connection evident in their first scene. I loved the couple together. The arguing and steamy scenes were excellent, but it was quiet in between scenes that caught my heart.

My only issue is with the flow of the plot. The storyline is non-linear; it starts in the present, goes to the past, then picks back up with the present. I prefer straight, linear timelines. I feel they make the story flow better. However, this is purely a personal preference, and it doesn’t negate the fact that this is a beautiful book.

Rescued By The Rake is the fourth book in Miss Primm’s Secret School For Budding Bluestockings. This has been an excellent series, and this particular book was another fantastic addition. Another thing I loved about this book is we get not one but two epilogues! I always look forward to this author’s epilogues; they always complete the story perfectly. Annabelle Anders has been writing books I love to read for quite a while. She outdid herself with Regency Cocky Gents, and The Miss Primm’s series builds on this firm foundation creating another bright, shining example of excellence in historical romance!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book through the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
