Highland Bear is everything I expect from a Celeste Barclay romance. Get ready for intrigue, action, and oh-so-steamy love scenes! I am a romantic, and these novels always touch my heart!

What I love most about Celeste Barclay’s writing is how she allows the character’s feelings for each other to develop in an organic, realistic way. Do not look for instant love here. As with many of her novels, Blake and Cery’s relationship starts as a physical connection. From the fierce, fiery attraction, deeper feelings develop as the characters discover more about themselves and each other; however, the couple is cautious. Even under duress, Blake and Cerys think things through. I feel this makes their love and the bond it creates even more extraordinary and more substantial when it does emerge.

The family bonds Blake has with his father and extended family are endearing. I have read several but not all of the connecting series. I was not lost, but I felt some of the past characters and plot synopsis got unclear at times. That being said, this is a fast-moving plot even through a myriad of complicated intrigue. Blake and Cerys’ journey is fraught with peril, but their perseverance is remarkable to read. The action and battle scenes were riveting, and the love story was sweetly sensual, even though the fiery physical connection – I loved reading this joining of the emotional and physical.

Highland Bear is the second book in the Clan Sinclair Legacy series. Although it can be read as a stand-alone, I feel I would enjoy the series even more if I got to know the past characters better. I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this adventurous romance. Full of sexy highlanders, a fierce leading lady, and danger around every corner, this romance checks all the boxes. I was entranced and riveted to the page – excitedly turning each one to see what happened next. Another fantastic job, Celeste Barclay! Highland Bear exhibited all the striking writing, formidable challenges, and unforgettable characters this series is known and loved. Highland Bear is a definite five-star read that makes a mark in the medieval Scottish romance world. I eagerly await the next installment!
