Hello, fellow romance lovers! Today I have the honor of introducing you to Emily Windsor and her enchanting Governess Chronicles series. I have read A Governess Should Never…Tempt A Prizefighter and A Governess Should Never…Deny A Duke. What I love most about these books is the way the heroes are portrayed as both intimidating and powerful yet also endearing with a penchant for romance. The heroines are both unique and brave. The couples in each book are opposites, yet they collide in these heartwarming love stories. Each character has a hidden depth. The colorful secondary characters and vivid backdrops create an enchanting background for our lovers. Both of these books sparkled and shone. I couldn’t put these books down! Below are the book synopsis, buy links, author info and links, and my reviews. I hope you enjoy discovering these books as much as I did!

The lady and the prizefighter. With scandalous kisses in a midnight carriage, tavern jaunts and dressing as a nefarious footpad, the vocation of governess has never been so exciting…
A Governess Should Never… Tempt a Prizefighter
The Governess Chronicles – Book 1
Emily Windsor
Regency Romance
Release Date: 9th November 2020
Tropes: A lady governess. A rugged prizefighter. Classes collide.
Tone: Romantic. Humorous. Warm. Poignant.
Heat Level: Sensual. Moderate.
“So tell me, Miss Griffin, why should I employ you as governess?”
A question to rouse fear within the breast of any prospective governess but for Matilda, a lady without references, appropriate brown clothing or any experience with children whatsoever, doubly so.
Yet alone in the world except for a brutish guardian and a malodorous betrothed, Matilda must seek her own future, even if that means employment in the household of a rugged ex-prizefighter with sizeable muscles and doubtless minuscule intellect.
“Please continue to enlighten me, Miss Griffin.”
Mr Seth Hawkins, owner of famed Boxing Academy, has reached the point of desperation in his search for a governess.
Yet with no other suitable candidates, could this yellow-clad, bespectacled female who seemed to think him a witless dolt with calloused knuckles and no books, teach his daughter the ways of a lady?
The Lady and the Prizefighter.
One should never judge a man by his well-defined muscles or a lady by her yellow-silk slippers, for beneath both façades lay yearning hearts, shared dreams and a taste for adventure.
With scandalous kisses in midnight carriages, tavern jaunts, whifflers, nobblers and dressing as a nefarious footpad on the prowl, the vocation of governess has never been so exciting…
A fun, heart-warming Regency romance, this is the first book in a companion series to the Games of Gentlemen.
My Review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Oh my! Get ready for your next book boyfriend! Mr. Seth Hawkins stole my heart, and Matilda was his perfect match! Seth is a retired prizefighter with a boxing academy. Matilda is a lady on the run from her detestable cousin. The two collide when Matilda applies to be Seth’s daughter, Chloe’s governess.
Seth might have brawn, but he also has a romantic soul. I loved how open Seth was with his emotions. Even with Seth’s intimidating presence, he exudes sensuality. Matilda has had a solitary life; she is lonely; her only comfort is her books. Matilda has grit and quiet strength. She might seem meek, but she can be fierce. Seth allows Matilda to be herself and discover new emotions like passion and love.
Seth and Matilda’s journey is firstly an enchanting, heart-warming romance. The plot is well-rounded with vivid secondary characters and impeccably described backdrops. This story moved! I couldn’t devour this book fast enough! From their first encounter, Seth and Matilda demanded my attention.
A Governess Should Never…Tempt A Prizefighter is the first novel in The Governess Chronicles series. Emily Windsor has created a sensually poetic romance about two lonely souls who find solace and love. Seth and Matilda’s journey impacted and resonated with me. I loved every aspect of this book and looked forward to more exquisite romances from Emily Windsor!
I voluntarily read and reviewed a gifted copy of this book by the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

With forbidden kisses on stormy nights, a house full of prospective brides, a scandalous rake of an heir, dragon folklore and cinnamon biscuits, the vocation of governess has never been so thrilling…

“I appoint you as governess. When can you start?”

The Prudent Governess and the Passionate Duke.
One should never judge a duke by his Mean, Moody & Mysterious reputation or a governess by her tightly pinned hair, for beneath both tamed façades lay wildness and shared passions – not to be denied.

My review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A Governess Should Never…Deny A Duke, wow! This book is a rare beauty that warmed my heart! Rhys and Isabelle’s journey is achingly, passionate romance at its best!
Oh! How I loved Rhys Cadogan, the Duke of Aberdare! Rhys is everything mysterious, intense, and utterly romantic. Rhys has such a passionate, artistic soul. I enjoyed every aspect of this intricate, complicated man. Rhys unexpectedly becomes heir after the death of his beloved brother. Rhys is left with this grieving niece, Mari, and the heavy responsibility of needing to produce an heir.
Isabelle Beaujeu is a mystery. Isabelle’s past is secretive, and she avoids it by creating this persona of a staid, perfect governess. Isabelle has impeccable skills, morals, and discipline. She is the epitome of genteel grace, elegance, and propriety. However, under this disguise is a wildly passionate woman.
Pure, elemental, fiery passion explodes when the dissolute duke and prim governess collide. Rhys’ romantic soul cries to Isabelle’s guarded heart. The passionate connection between Rhys and Isabelle is off-the-charts; however, it is the slow build of the couple’s sensual journey that is romance at its best.
This plot has everything. The backdrop of Wales is beautifully descriptive. I could hear the waves and smell the sea. The secondary characters from Mari the niece, Hugh the rogue heir, Gwen, the family friend, and all the eccentric servants were vividly created. The storyline moved and flowed seamlessly. My attention never faltered.
A Governess Should Never…Deny A Duke is the second book in The Governess Chronicles series. Emily Windsor has created an exquisite, breathtaking novel that is romantic artistry at its best. I cannot wait for Gwen’s story!
I voluntarily read and reviewed a gifted copy of this book through the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
More About Emily…

Emily grew up in the north of England on a diet of historical romance and strong tea.
Unfortunately, you couldn’t study Regency slang, so she did the next best thing and gained a degree in Classics and History instead. This ‘led’ to an eight-year stint in engineering.
Having left city life, she now lives in a dilapidated farmhouse where her days are spent writing, fixing the leaky roof, battling the endless vegetation and finding pictures of well-tied cravats.
