⭐️⭐️⭐️
I adored Mary Lancaster’s Regency and Victorian-era books and was delighted to read a medieval-era book from her. I am conflicted about this book. The plot is exciting and moves quickly. The characters are vivid and intriguing. Two things held this book back for me. There are multiple points of view throughout the book, which I found distracting. Also, the book is more action than romance. I would have liked more time with Adam and Christian; this is a personal preference. I felt the romantic side of the book needed more development.
Overall I found the book enjoyable; the story grew more intense in the second half. Adam is wild and enigmatic; he has a dangerous edge that is appealing. Christian is strong, independent, and doesn’t back down from Adam. There is an undeniable pull between the couple.
Rebellion’s Fire is the first book in the Last Flame Of Alba series. I loved the blending of historical fact and fiction. Overall there was room for improvement; however, I felt Rebellion’s Fire did an excellent job of being an exciting and vivid read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book through Netgalley and the publisher. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
