Emerald Sea is the third book in The Diamond Series by Cassandra Dean. This is my first Cassandra Dean book, and I was delighted! Emerald Sea is a gritty, passionate, and entertaining western. Hope McElroy hires Jake Wade to find a killer. The journey the couple takes is dangerous yet deadly still is the risk they take with their hearts.
I thought both Jake and Hope were well-developed, likable characters. I loved Hope’s independence and determination. Jake was the classic gunslinger. I enjoyed Jake’s journey of falling for Hope. The two have a fiery, electric connection.
Everything about this page-turner of a romance was sublime. It grabbed my attention, and wouldn’t let go. This was an eye-catching, heart-pounding, engaging story. I want to go back and read the other books in this series. Cassandra Dean created a western with heart and fire that captured me and left me wanting more.
