Ensnaring The Duke is the first book in the When The Wallflowers Were Wicked series by Daphne Quinn. Lady Abigail Weston is a shy wallflower that goes to a house party with no intentions of finding a husband. Oliver, the Duke of Worthing, is adamant that he will never marry. Oliver and Abigail find passion and an emotional connection at the house party; could it change all their ideas on love and marriage?
Oliver is very stubborn and undecided. I wanted to yell at him at times! But my heart also ached for Oliver as well; Oliver’s feelings of inadequacy in being Duke shaped his views on marriage. Abigail is looking for a match of convenience to assist her younger sister when she debuts. I love the quiet strength of Abigail.
This was an enticing, emotional read about two people whose perspectives are blurred by the past. This was a medium-paced plot that kept my attention throughout. Both Oliver and Abigail were intense, raw characters who stole my heart. This romance is a beautiful way to start a series, and I highly recommend it.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book through the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
