⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Playing The Duke’s Finacee is the second book in the Dollar Duchesses series by Amanda McCabe. William and Violet are written in a vibrant, brilliant way to seem like living, breathing people. William is every inch a duke. William avoids scandal and embraces his influence. To assist with his duties, William’s family pressures him to find the perfect duchess. Violet, the middle Wilkin’s sister, is a passionate photographer, always getting into one scrape or another. When Violet discovers she is promised to a horrible man, William sweeps in and offers an alternative. William and Violet are to enter into a fake engagement. This is something they feel is perfectly safe. However, their hearts tell them differently.
The give and take between William and Violet was perfection. This opposites-attract romance was sublime in the plot and characters. This is a slow-burn story, which allows the reader the needed time to invest in William and Violet’s romance. The couple’s instant connection was so much fun to watch develop into something much more.
Amanda McCabe writes from such a vulnerable place. I could viscerally feel William and Violet’s struggle for their hopes and dreams. The backdrop of the royal wedding gave a fun, festive feel to the book. With each book in this series, I feel I get to know the Wilton sisters better. I want these strong, intelligent, beautiful women to be my sisters! This elegant, decadent romance is a journey you’ll love and not want to end!
I voluntarily read and reviewed a gifted copy of this book through the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
