Morning Star is the third book in the Lone Star Crossed Saga by Kris Jayne. This is my first novel by Kris Jayne, and I was impressed. I did not feel lost even though I started in the middle of the series. This book stood alone well, but I want to return and read the previous books. This is an enemies-to-lovers, marriage-of-convenience, contemporary romance.
Anthony is a wealthy playboy that must marry as soon as possible to get his inheritance. Sarah Pennington wants nothing to do with her step-sister’s off-again boyfriend. However, a weekend in Mexico changes things, and Sarah takes Anthony up on his outrageous offer.
The couple’s chemistry was spot-on. Anthony and Sarah are both messes, yet somehow they fit perfectly together. I enjoyed the push and pull between the couple. This is a slow-burn romance, and I sometimes wanted the plot to speed up a bit. However, I was captivated b this low-angst, character-driven romance. Kris Jayne has created a heart-warming, redemptive romance that caught my attention from page one.
