Love On The Line by Anabelle Bryant

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Love On The Line is the first book in the Vauxhall Voices series by Anabelle Bryant.  Two things instantly attracted me to this book – the beautiful cover and the description.  I love when a book includes Vauxhall, and this book puts Vauxhall and its entertainers on center stage!  Lola York, a tightrope performer, meets Theodore Coventry, Earl of Essex, under tragic and mysterious circumstances.  The two are thrown together and are soon embroiled in a mystery and develop feelings for one another.

I loved Lola and Theodore!  Lola is independent, resourceful, and loyal.  Theodore is an unconventional earl; he cares nothing for society or its gossip.  It was refreshing that societal expectations didn’t deter Theodore’s feelings for Lola.  The couple together was explosive, as bright as Vauxhall’s fireworks!  I wanted this couple to succeed.  I became invested in both Lola and Theodore’s struggles and victories, and that is an attribute of excellent writing.

I loved that this book takes place at Vauxhall.  The backdrop and secondary characters greatly enhanced the story.  I did feel the ending was abrupt, and everything resolved itself too easily.  That being said, I truly enjoyed this book.   I had read Anabelle Bryant before and enjoyed her Maidens Of Mayhem series. However, this book is my favorite.  Anabelle Bryant has the beginnings of a unique, intriguing, passionate series.  I can’t wait for Sophia’s book!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book through BookSprout.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.
